Project Superintendent

Project Superintendent:

Seeking a Project Superintendent: To Supervises all field construction and safety activities of commercial and/or institutional projects.

The successful candidate will effectively organize, plan, and schedule construction activities in a manner that maximizes safety and productivity. All with strict adherence to budget, quality and other key client objectives.

Responsibilities/Requirements include:

  • Jobsite safety, organization and cleanliness.
  • Severe as a primary point of contact with owners/architects/engineers/subcontractors for the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
  • Developing and implementing overall project work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
  • Developing and managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Managing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Overseeing work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation
  • Acting as liaison to inspection agencies.
  • Managing the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget.
  • Managing the billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • Collaborate with Estimating/Preconstruction Team on the project schedule, logistics, safety, constructability reviews, general conditions and general requirements.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in construction science, construction management plus seven years of experience. Longer experience will be considered as a substitute for a degree.
  • Extensive experience with commercial upfit / interior renovations and MEP system installation is preferred. However an extensive background with other building types and systems will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of the permitting process.
  • Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Onscreen Takeoff programs are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to manage tight deadlines and the responsibility of accurately forecasting the budget for a project.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, well organized and able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
  • Jobsite cleanliness.
  • Positive experience working in owner occupied spaces.
  • Ability to occasionally lift upto 75lbs.
  • Must have valid NC Driver’s license and no criminal record.
